Problem Set 1....

Problem set 1 was pretty easy for the most part. There were a few that I am having trouble on. One of these is the properties of infinity. What is infinity times 0? Also, what does [x] mean in 11 and 12? It makes no sense to me. I will continue to ponder these topics...

  1. Infinity * 0 is what is called an "indeterminate form." Just by looking at it you can't be sure whether or not a limit exists. You have to use some algebraic technique or your calculator to get some sense of what is happening. Is there a specific problem still in question? I think we answered the question about 11 and 12 today. Let me know if you are still having difficulties with them. Great post!
